Devon Canyon, tired of running and hiding, wants nothing more than to be able to settle down and be left alone. However, her unusual capabilities—along with two six-year-olds—won't allow that to happen.

Because Devon has so effectively faded into the background, she has no friends, has cut herself off from everyone she has ever known, and finds that she's not able to trust anyone.
