Novelsdirect.com was created to provide a direct conduit from new authors to their readers. With the continued consolidation of publishing houses into fewer and larger conglomerates, driven primarily by the bottom line, opportunities for new writers to break into print have diminished significantly.

From a corporate perspective, it makes more sense to market and promote already established authors, along with a very small number of new writers, than to take time to develop a bigger group of unknown novelists whose names and works are not instantly recognizable.

It is the objective of Novelsdirect.com to enable adventurous readers to obtain brand new works of fiction directly from their authors, bypassing the traditional chain of author - agent - publisher - retailer - customer. Because we reduce the number of steps and entities involved, we are able to sell these first-edition novels at a price lower than that which you'd normally pay in a regular retail environment.

In the future, we hope to be able to cut these prices even further, once we are able to reduce our costs through increased sales volume. We also plan to serve other countries, but at the moment—because of currency exchange rate complexities and international mailing costs—we are limiting ourselves to customers within the United States. We want to provide good service to our readers and don't want to promise more than we can deliver.
